Give Now

Because of you, hope becomes action.

At Project Hope Foundation, we provide a lifespan of autism services through therapy, education, adult services, and community engagement. Every gift helps create extraordinary ordinary moments for children, adults, families, and communities impacted by autism.

Because of you, children are gaining life-changing skills.

Each year, we serve more than 400 children through our accredited therapy program across nine campuses. Many children work one-on-one with our team every day, building communication, social, safety, and daily living skills. Children who were unable to speak are learning to use communication devices. Parents who once wondered what their child was thinking are finally hearing their child’s thoughts. Siblings who had no way to engage are now playing together.

Because of you, students are experiencing school in a new way.

We support more than 260 students through Hope Academy and through partnerships with public and private schools. Hope Academy is our own accredited autism-specific school, situated on 42 acres, serving students from preschool through high school. For many of our students, this means experiencing a true school community, including classrooms, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, friendships, routines, and the chance to learn in an environment designed for how they learn best.

Because of you, adults are finding purpose.

Through our adult services program, adults are gaining independence, confidence, and ways to contribute. In our digital t-shirt printing business, they are learning the many steps involved in production, from preparing orders to printing, organizing, packaging, and working as part of a team. Their days now include what some parents once barely dared to dream: meaningful work, conversations with co-workers, growing independence, and paychecks earned through their own efforts.

Because of you, communities are learning how to support autism well.

Our community engagement efforts reach more than 1,000 people each year through presentations, workshops, and trainings. We help schools, employers, medical professionals, first responders, civic groups, and neighbors better understand autism, use practical strategies for successful interaction, and create communities where individuals with autism and their families are seen, supported, and included.

Your gift does more than fund programs. It helps children communicate, students belong, adults contribute, families breathe, and communities connect.

This place, these therapists, schedulers, and administration have completely changed the trajectory of not only our son’s life but our  whole family’s life. There aren’t enough words in all of the languages to describe how grateful we are. Today he walked out of the doors, having reached all his goals. Tuesday he starts real SCHOOL!

Bethany Welborn-Ruhl

Vice President of Therapy & Education

Bethany joined the Project Hope family in June 2013. She has been working with individuals with autism since 2003 when she began working as a line therapist with a 2-year old boy. Since then, she has worked as line therapist, senior therapist, coordinator, and classroom teacher at several organizations, including Mariposa School for Children with Autism, the Early Autism Project, and Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Bethany enjoys working with a variety of learners on the autism spectrum. Her favorite part of her work is celebrating with the treatment team as clients master skills that make a meaningful difference in their lives and the lives of their families!

Hailing from western North Carolina, Bethany graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from Wake Forest University in 2006. In January 2011, she completed the required coursework at Florida Institute of Technology and became a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. Two years later, Bethany received her master’s degree in Special Education from Georgia State University, as well as her Board Certification in Behavior Analysis.

In her free time, Bethany enjoys spending time with her loved ones, crafting, and going to the movies.
