Greenwood

About Greenwood

We began serving Greenwood County in 2016 and currently operate from leased space. In that time, we’ve formed powerful partnerships with the Greenwood Genetic Center through our Helix & Hope initiative, uniting science and services, and with Greenwood School District 50, supporting children both in and out of the classroom. We have provided hundreds of thousands of service hours to local children, helping them gain life changing skills and equipping their parents with strategies that transform family life.

Our Vision
In June 2024, we purchased 12 acres on the Greenwood Genetic Center Partnership Campus. Here, families will be able to receive a diagnosis at the Genetic Center and then walk down the street to see the hope and progress possible through our therapy. This unique proximity, which will open in 2027, could become a national model for seamless, cohesive autism care.

In addition to providing ABA therapy to children in the GLEAMNS area, with onsite support and supervision from Board Certified Behavior Analysts, we also provide consultation services to Greenwood School District 50 and Laurens School District 56 to support students with autism.

Project Hope Foundation received its start in Greenwood through assistance from the Greenwood County Community Foundation, Self Family Foundation, Self Regional Healthcare Community Outreach, SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, and community members. We are grateful for ongoing support from the Chandler family, as well as the Greenwood community and business groups such as Greenwood County Community Foundation, Greenwood Women Care, Lander University, Legacy Church, Sports Break, The Arts Center of Greenwood, and United Way of the Lakelands.

Bethany joined the Project Hope family in June 2013. She has been working with individuals with autism since 2003 when she began working as a line therapist with a 2-year old boy. Since then, she has worked as line therapist, senior therapist, coordinator, and classroom teacher at several organizations, including Mariposa School for Children with Autism, the Early Autism Project, and Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Bethany enjoys working with a variety of learners on the autism spectrum. Her favorite part of her work is celebrating with the treatment team as clients master skills that make a meaningful difference in their lives and the lives of their families!

Hailing from western North Carolina, Bethany graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from Wake Forest University in 2006. In January 2011, she completed the required coursework at Florida Institute of Technology and became a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
